FAPP Local 2 is the local union representing covered employees of Valley Ambulance Authority. Our members are EMS professionals who provide emergency medical care and transportation across the regional Valley and Quaker Valley EMS system. Local 2 provides workplace representation, member advocacy, communication, and a collective voice for its bargaining-unit members.
Local 2 represents covered employees of Valley Ambulance Authority (VAA). Valley Ambulance Authority operates a regional EMS system in partnership with Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority (QVAA), sharing facilities, staffing resources, and operational support while serving communities across western Allegheny County.
Valley Ambulance Authority directly serves Moon Township, Coraopolis Borough, Crescent Township, Neville Island, and designated areas of Pittsburgh International Airport. Through the Quaker Valley Ambulance Authority partnership, the regional system also serves Aleppo Township, Bell Acres Borough, Edgeworth Borough, Glenfield Borough, Leet Township, Leetsdale Borough, Haysville Borough, Glen Osborne Borough, Sewickley Borough, Sewickley Heights, and Sewickley Hills. Together, VAA and QVAA report more than 10,000 calls annually.
Local 2 helps members understand and protect negotiated rights, provides representation in workplace matters, supports grievances and contract questions, communicates union business, holds meetings and votes, and connects members with elected officers.
Eligibility depends on the applicable bargaining unit and governing union rules. Potential members can submit a membership review request and Local 2 leadership will verify eligibility before membership is accepted.
